SOHO Ω Grooved XPS Underfloor Tile Insulation Board Installation Guide

  • Prepare the Subfloor: Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, and level. Remove any debris or dust to create a stable foundation for the installation.

  • Apply Leveling Adhesive Layer: If the subfloor is uneven, apply a leveling adhesive layer to create a smooth, flat surface. This layer ensures better adhesion of the insulation boards and improves overall stability.

  • Lay the XPS Insulation Boards: Start in a corner and place the SOHO Ω grooved XPS under tile insulation board with the grooved side facing up. Align the boards edge-to-edge, trimming them as needed to fit around edges, corners, and obstacles.

  • Install Heating Pipes: Carefully place the heating pipes into the grooves of the XPS boards, ensuring proper spacing for efficient heat distribution.

  • Secure the Boards: Apply adhesive or use fasteners to secure the XPS Extruded Polystyrene boards to the subfloor. Press down firmly to eliminate any gaps or air pockets.

  • Check Level: Use a spirit level to ensure the boards are installed evenly across the surface. This ensures a stable base for the next layers.

  • Apply Tile Adhesive: Spread a layer of tile adhesive over the XPS under the tile insulation board, ensuring even coverage for the tiles to adhere properly.

  • Lay the Tiles: Begin laying the tiles on top of the adhesive layer, leaving appropriate expansion gaps along the edges. Press tiles firmly into place and ensure they are level.

  • Test Heating System: Test the system before completing the installation to ensure proper functioning.
